Francis Hardy (French Politician)
Francis Hardy (14 December 1923 – 11 March 2021) was a French politician. Biography Prior to his political career, Hardy played rugby for US Cognac and subsequently became president of the club. He lived in Cognac and was President of Hardy Cognac SA, his family's business. As Mayor of Cognac, he installed a library and an art museum. He served in the National Assembly from 1973 to 1981 and again from 1986 to 1988. He served as General Councillor of the now-defunct and . He served on the Poitou-Charentes Regional Council, where he served as president from 1978 to 1980. In the 2014 French municipal elections The French municipal elections of 2014 were held on 23 March of that year with a second round of voting, where necessary, on 30 March to elect the municipal councils of France's communes. Union Sportive Cognaçaise is a French rugby union club, based in Cognac in the Charente département (Nouvelle-Aquitaine region). They play at the Parc des Sports (capacity 2,800), and wear white and red. They were founded on 2 December 1898 and regularly competed in the first division in the 1950s and 1960s.
