Francis Francis (cricketer)
Francis Philip Francis (15 September 1852 – 18 January 1926) was an English cricketer. Francis was a right-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Upminster, Essex. Francis made a single first-class appearance for Middlesex in 1881 against Surrey at Lord's. In his only first-class match he wasn't required to bat or bowl. He also played a number of matches for Essex before they were granted first-class status. He died in Claygate, Surrey on 18 January 1926. Pete Bostwick
George Herbert "Pete" Bostwick (August 14, 1909 – January 13, 1982) was an American court tennis player, a steeplechase jockey and horse trainer, and an eight-goal polo player. Biography He was born in Bisby Lake, New York to Marie L. Stokes and Albert Carlton Bostwick. His grandfather, Jabez A. Bostwick, was a founder and treasurer of the Standard Oil Company of New York and a partner of John D. Rockefeller. His grandmother, Helen C. Bostwick, left upon her death in April 1920 a sum of $1,156,818 to him and similar amounts to his siblings. Among his cousins were the cross-dressing woman speedboat racer "Joe" a/k/a Betty Carstairs and the pilot Francis Francis. Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. During the 1971 event, Baldovino Dassù became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European circuit. FrancisFrancis! is an espresso machine manufacturer owned by Illy. It was founded in 1994 by Francesco Illy. FrancisFrancis has produced espresso machines for the home market. The most famous model is X1, designed in 1995 by award-winning Italian architect Luca Trazzi. Mr. Trazzi also designed some other models, including X7 and X8. The Y1 developed in Italian studio, MM Design was awarded Red dot design award best of the best in 2011. In 2004 the company was purchased by Illy, since then, FrancisFrancis! became the espresso machines of choice for Illy, always associated with the coffee brand. Frank Francis
Sir Frank Chalton Francis (5 October 1901 – 15 September 1988) was an English academic librarian and curator. Almost all his working life was at the British Museum, first as an Assistant Keeper in the Department of Printed Books, and later as Secretary of the museum, Keeper of Printed Books and, from 1959 to 1968, Director and Principal Librarian of the museum. As director, Francis worked to modernise and expand the museum, and his ideas contributed to the establishment of a separate British Library after his retirement. He was a well-known bibliographer, lecturing in the subject at University College, London, and serving as secretary, and later president, of the Bibliographical Society. He was one of the pioneers of computerised bibliography for libraries.
