Francesco De Angelis (sailor)
Francesco de Angelis (born 11 September 1960) is an Italian yachtsman. He was the first and so far only non-angloamerican skipper to win the Louis Vuitton Cup in Auckland in 2000 with Luna Rossa (ITA45). Biography Francesco was born in Naples on September 11, 1960. Over the course of his career, he has won several prestigious regattas, including six world championships with different classes, one Admiral's Cup (1995), three Sardinia Cups, two Swan Cups, three Middle Sea Race Trophy (2005, 2013 and 2015),the Giraglia Trophy in 2018, the Aegean 600 (2021). He has won two European championships and nine Italian championships with different classes. In 2000, as the skipper and helmsman of Luna Rossa, he won the Louis Vuitton Cup and challenged Team New Zealand’s Black Magic (NZL60) in the XXX America’s Cup. The sport of sailing involves a variety of competitive sailing formats that are sanctioned through various sailing federations and yacht clubs. Oracle Team USA is an American yacht racing syndicate initially formed to compete for the 2003 America's Cup. They competed again in the 2007 event before winning the 33rd America's Cup regatta in 2010 – representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club. The team also won the 2013 America's Cup, 34th America's Cup in 2013. The syndicate was initially named ''Oracle'' for the 2003 campaign and backed primarily by Larry Ellison, the co-founder and CEO of Oracle Corporation, but was renamed in August 2004 to ''Oracle BMW Racing'' to reflect the Germany, German company's role, and subsequently revised again to ''BMW Oracle Racing'' to reflect increased involvement from ''BMW''. ORC World Championships
An Orc (or Ork) is a fictional humanoid monster like a goblin. Orcs were brought into modern usage by the fantasy writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, especially ''The Lord of the Rings''. The 30th America's Cup was won by Team New Zealand, who swept the 2000 Louis Vuitton Cup winner Prada Challenge in all five races. It was the first America's Cup without an American challenger or defender. Cowes () is an English seaport town and civil parish on the Isle of Wight.
