Francesc Fontbona
Francesc Fontbona de Vallescar (born 20 July 1948, in Barcelona) is a Catalan art historian, writer, exhibition curator and specialist in Romanticism, Catalan Modernism and Noucentisme Arts. Fontbona is the author of many works of Catalan art history. Doctorate in Early modern period from the Universitat de Barcelona in 1987. He was director of Graphic section in National Library of Catalonia (1995-2013), and Chief executive-writer of art section in the Great Catalan Encyclopedia (1968–78). Francesc Fontbona is member of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Saint George, member of The Hispanic Society of America, member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans and Board chair of the Institut Amatller d'Art Hispànic. A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. The Institute for Catalan Studies ( ca, Institut d'Estudis Catalans, ), also known by the acronym IEC, is an academic institution which seeks to undertake research and study into "all elements of Catalan culture". Serra D'Or
''Serra d'Or'' () is a Catalan magazine that appeared in October 1959. It was promoted by a group of university students, and was published by the Montserrat abbey press, with a monthly circulation of 8.000 copies. Origins The origins of the magazine can be traced in 1946. During the Virgin of Montserrat coronation festivities in 1947, even though the conditions were difficult, there was a meeting between Catalan intellectuals and the Benedictine monks of the Montserrat abbey. In that moment there were two publications that were sponsored by the Montserrat abbey, and that have been born separately: ''Germinàbit'', which was a magazine for the old singers of the abbey's choir, and ''Serra d'Or'', which was the magazine for the abbey's workers. At the end of 1959, the two magazines were merged into one. The ''Germinàbit'' staff (Enric Bastardes and Max Cahner, that had entered due to Josep Benet) became part then of the one of Serra d'Or. Hispanic Society Of America
The Hispanic Society of America operates a museum and reference library for the study of the arts and cultures of Spain and Portugal and their former colonies in Latin America, the Spanish East Indies, and Portuguese India. Despite the name, it has never functioned as a learned society. Founded in 1904 by philanthropist Archer M. Huntington, the institution continues to operate at its original location in a 1908 Beaux Arts building on Audubon Terrace in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. A second building, on the north side of the terrace, was added in 1930.
