France Bleu Breizh Izel - also known as France Bleu Lower Brittany, is a public service generalist radio station located in Lower Brittany, where Breton is traditionally spoken. The broadcast network and by extension Lower Brittany is made up of Finistère, western Côtes-d'Armor and western Morbihan. It was established on August 3, 1982, under the name . History The history of decentralized public radio in Lower Brittany has its origins in 1946 with the construction of the Quimerc'h radio transmitter. This transmitter broadcast national programs of the French Radiodiffusion, the program developed by the regional station of Rennes, but also programs specific to Lower Brittany in French and Breton. The station was initially known as Radio Quimerc'h and then Radio Brest. Quintin (; br, Kintin) is a commune in the Cotes-d'Armor department (Brittany region) in the northwest of France from Saint-Brieuc, the department capital. History The area around Quintin has been occupied since the Neolithic. Early Quintin was originally located near Vieux-Bourg but, following a plague epidemic, the city moved to its current location. Quintin in Roman times was located on a crossroads but significantly developed in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, due to the weaving industry and the trade of linen cloth, but the decline came with the French Revolution and cotton gradually taking the lead over linen. Stade Brestois 29 or simply Brest, is a French football club based in Brest. It was founded in 1950 following the merger of five local patronages, including Armoricaine de Brest, founded in 1903. In its early years, the club made a rapid rise in the hierarchy of regional football, to the point of being promoted to the French Amateur Championship, the third level of French football, in 1958. The club joined the Second Division in 1970, then finally reached the First Division in 1979.
