Gene Fraise
Eugene Stace Fraise (May 7, 1932 – November 27, 2020) was an American politician from Iowa. Career He served in the Iowa Senate from the 46th district from 1986, when he filled a vacancy left by Lowell Junkins' resignation, until 2013. Fraise served on several committees in the Iowa Senate – the Appropriations committee; the Judiciary committee; and the Agriculture committee, of which he was the committee chairman. He also served as vice chair of the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes sitting on the Lee County Board of Supervisors for seven years. Fraise was re-elected in 2004 with 14,272 votes (53%), defeating Republican opponent Doug P. Abolt. Peter Fraize
Peter Fraize is a saxophonist and George Washington University professor best known for his freestyle jazz and for performing as a part of the Peter Fraize Quintet. Biography Raised in northern Virginia, Fraize attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where he studied classical saxophone. He later studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under Dutch saxophonist Leo van Oostrom. While there Fraize worked with Scapes, a quintet which won first prize at the 1989 Middelzee Jazz Concours. On returning to the United States in 1989, Fraize formed the fusion group Stickman, which performed at the Mellon Jazz Festival in Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Greg Hatza Organization and is also in a rock group, The Emptys. His jazz group, The Peter Fraize Quartet, won the 1999 Wammie award (Washington Area Music Association) for Contemporary Jazz Ensembles. Frankie Dean, known by his stage name as Franko Fraize, is an independent British rapper from Thetford, Norfolk. He is the cousin of popular YouTuber Jack Dean, known as JaackMaate. Career Fraize started posting his music on MySpace and YouTube, eventually being featured on BBC Norfolk, BBC Suffolk and BBC Radio 1Xtra before having his single "Treasures" featuring Kamilla Lovett playlisted on BBC Radio 1 in January 2014. The video for the track had also been added to music TV channels Flava and Channel AKA. In 2012, he supported Mike Skinner on the Norwich leg of The D.O.T. tour. Fraise (1988–2005) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1992 Breeders' Cup Turf. Background Fraise was a bay horse bred by Allen E. Paulson. He was sired by Strawberry Road, the 1983 Australian Horse of the Year, acquired by Paulson in 1986. His dam, Zalataia, acquired by Paulson in 1983, raced in France and the United States, notably winning the Grand Prix de Deauville and the Grade I Oak Tree Invitational Stakes. Fraise, which is French for strawberry, was raced by Madeleine Paulson, who won the colt on a wager with her husband by beating him in a golf game. Racing career Trained for racing on turf by future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee Bill Mott, Fraise did not race at age two but made ten starts in 1991 at age three, notably winning the Round Table Handicap at Chicago's Arlington Park.
