Fozi El-Mardi
Muhammad Fawzi Mahjoub Al-Mardi (1953 – 5 May 2023), also known as Fozi el-Mardi (), was a Sudanese football player, coach, and administrator. He played for Al-Hilal FC in 1971, and played 29 international matches for the Sudan national football team. He won Sudan Premier League in 1973 and Sudan Cup in 1977. Al-Mardi retired from football in 1980, to start working in the field of training since 1982 for many sports clubs in Sudan. He later became a member of the executive committee of Al-Hilal FC. Omdurman
Omdurman (standard ar, أم درمان ''Umm Durmān'') is a city in Sudan. It is the most populated city in the country, and thus also in the State of Khartoum. Omdurman lies on the west bank of the River Nile, opposite and northwest of the capital city of Khartoum. Etymology The name Omdurman (''Umm Durmān'') literally translates as "Mother of Durmān", but who she was or might have been is not known. Anglo-Egyptian Sudan
Anglo-Egyptian Sudan ( ar, السودان الإنجليزي المصري ') was a condominium of the United Kingdom and Egypt in the Sudans region of northern Africa between 1899 and 1956, corresponding mostly to the territory of present-day Sudan and South Sudan. Legally, sovereignty and administration were shared between both Egypt and the United Kingdom, but in practice the structure of the condominium ensured effective British control over Sudan, with Egypt having limited, local power influence in reality. In the mean time, Egypt itself fell under increasing British influence. Following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, Egypt pushed for an end to the condominium, and the independence of Sudan. Sudan National Football Team
The Sudan national football team ( ar, منتخب السودان الوطني لكرة القدم) represents Sudan in international football and is controlled by the Sudan Football Association, the governing body for football in Sudan. 2023 Sudan Conflict
An armed conflict between rival factions of the military government of Sudan began on 15 April 2023, when clashes broke out in cities, with the fighting concentrated around the capital city of Khartoum and the Darfur region. As of 27 May, at least 1,800 people had been killed and more than 5,100 others had been injured. The conflict began with attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on government sites.
