Gunnar Fougner
Gunnar Fougner (January 5, 1911 – October 20, 1995) was a Norwegian architect. Gunnar Fougner was born in Lillehammer, Norway. He attended the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim where he graduated in 1934. Fougner began his first job as an assistant architect working for Ove Bang 1935–1938, followed by employment by Arne Korsmo in 1939. He was an active resistance fighter during the Nazi occupation of Norway. Fougner left Norway in July 1940 to join a Norwegian group of special troops. Among other activities, he assisted in the transport of resistance fighters between Norway and Shetland. During the liberation of Norway, he was in a group under Major Leiv Kreyberg who led the liberation of Allies POWs in North Norway. After World War II, he entered private practice in Lillehammer. Kristian Fougner
Kristian Fougner, (21 April 1919 – 30 August 2012) was a Norwegian engineer and resistance member. Fougner was born in Halden to Bjørn Fougner and Ragnhild Klaveness. He graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1946. While a student in Trondheim during the German occupation of Norway, Fougner took part in resistance activities for the intelligence organization XU, and for the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). He operated the SIS wireless station ''Leporis'' from 1942 to 1943. Brit Fougner (born 21 February 1946) is a Norwegian organizational leader and politician for the Socialist Left Party. From 1990 to 1994 she was the managing director of the Council for Equality (a predecessor of the Centre for Equality, which in turn was a predecessor for the Norwegian Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud). She was hired in Norsk Form in 1995, first as information director but then as chief executive from 2003 to 2008.
