Forum Of German Catholics
The Forum of German Catholics (german: Forum Deutscher Katholiken) is a conservative Catholic lay organization in Germany. It was founded in 2000 in opposition to the Central Committee of German Catholics. History and function The Forum of German Catholics was founded on 30 September 2000 in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fulda and is based in Kaufering, Bavaria. It is an official religious organization registered with the German government. It was founded by Hubert Gienten, with the guidance of Archbishop Johannes Dyba. A conservative organization, it was formed in opposition to the Central Committee of German Catholics. The forum, made up of members of the Catholic laity, claims to be committed to "unadulterated and unabridged" faith. It hosts congresses and other events, focused on Catholic teaching and ministry. Eva Bischoff ( Feldker; 9 November 1958), known as Eva Herman, is a German author and former television presenter. She worked as a news presenter on the nationwide ''Tagesschau'' news programme from 1989 to 2006 and also presented various other television programmes for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk until 2007. In 2003, an opinion poll by TNS Emnid declared Herman to be "Germany's favourite presenter". Starting in 2006, Herman authored multiple books that were critical of feminism and advocated for traditional female gender roles. Her books were met with widespread criticism and media scrutiny. Manfred Christ (born 18 February 1940 in Aschaffenburg) is a German politician, representing the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. Between 1990 and 2008 he represented the constituency of Aschaffenburg-West in the Landtag of Bavaria. After leaving school in 1958, Christ trained first as a machine fitter, then in industrial sales, eventually becoming a company secretary in 1969. Heinz Josef Algermissen
Heinz Josef Algermissen (born 15 February 1943 in Hermeskeil, Rhine Province) was bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fulda from 2001 until 2018. Biography After graduation from gymnasium in 1963, Algermissen studied philosophy and theology in Freiburg and Paderborn, where he was ordained priest on 19 July 1969 by Archbishop Cardinal (Catholicism), Cardinal Lorenz Jaeger. After serving as chaplain in Bielefeld and Mescheden, during which time he also counseled at the high school in Paderborn, he became parson in 1980 in Bielefeld-Schildesche, and Dean (Christianity), dean in 1984. Paul Josef Cordes
Paul Josef Cordes (born 5 September 1934) is a German cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as president of the Pontifical Council ''Cor Unum'' (1995–2010), and was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2007. Biography Youth Cordes was born in Kirchhundem, and graduated from the '' gymnasium'' of Attendorn in 1955. He studied medicine for two semesters in Münster, and philosophy at the Philosophical Faculty of Paderborn as well as in Lyon, France. After studying at the Faculty of Theology Paderborn, Cordes attended the University of Mainz, where he was also an assistant to Professor Karl Lehmann, under whom Cordes was also the first student to defend his thesis ("Sendung zum Dienst.
