Fortuna (cigarette)
Fortuna is a Hispanic brand of cigarettes, currently owned and manufactured by the Franco-Spanish company Altadis, a subsidiary of Imperial Tobacco. Fortuna is Spanish for fortune or luck. History Fortuna was first introduced in 1974 in Francoist Spain by Tabacalera, a Spanish tobacco conglomerate which is now half of the Altadis corporation. When Fortuna was launched in 1974, the market was dominated by black tobacco and the few international brands of blonde (light) cigarettes that were very expensive for the Spanish smoker. As a response to this, Tabacalera launched Fortuna cigarettes which were a type of blonde tobacco with a filter. With Fortuna came the first American blonde flavoured cigarette and in its first six months almost 700 million cigarettes were sold. Ducados is a brand of cigarettes that is currently owned and manufactured by Altadis, a division of Imperial Tobacco. ''Ducados'' is Spain, Spanish for ''Ducats'', a gold coin was part of the original design of the package. History The brand was introduced in 1963. The original Ducados cigarettes (''"Ducados Negros"'') were strong and mainly smoked by men. As more women joined the workforce in and after the 1960s, the black cigarettes became less popular because many women didn't like the bad taste that it left in their mouths. Noticing this, Altadis released a ''Rubio'' (''"Blonde"'') variant which was lighter. The brand describes Ducados as having a well-built and rich flavor. In Spain, this brand is called "Tabaco negro" (Black tobacco) due to its supposed purity and the use of less chemical which make its color a lot darker than any other brands. 2002 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 2002 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 54th Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Road Racing World Championship season. The season consist of 16 races, which started with the Japanese Grand Prix on 7 April and ended with the Valencian Community Grand Prix on 3 November. The premier class, now renamed MotoGP, introduced new rules and regulations which allowed 990cc four-stroke bikes to race alongside the previous year's 500cc two-stroke bikes. Defending champion Valentino Rossi won his second premier class title by winning 11 races and scoring 355 points. He clinched the title at the Rio de Janeiro Grand Prix, with four races left in the season. The 250cc title was won by Marco Melandri who won nine races and scored 298 points. Gresini Racing is a motorcycle racing team competing in the MotoGP World Championship under the name Gresini Racing MotoGP as a Ducati satellite team, in the Moto2 World Championship as Team Gresini Moto2, and the MotoE World Cup as Felo Gresini MotoE. The team also competes in CIV Moto3. The team was founded in by Fausto Gresini (1961–2021), a two-time 125cc world champion, after the end of his racing career. The 1996 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 48th Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, F.I.M. Road racing, Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Honda, Honda's Michael Doohan, Mick Doohan continued his domination of the 500 class with 8 victories. His Repsol Honda teammate, Àlex Crivillé beat him to the line twice in Austria and the Czech Republic. Luca Cadalora, now with the Erv Kanemoto, Kanemoto Honda team took two wins for the fourth consecutive year. Suzuki, Suzuki's hopes were dashed when Daryl Beattie suffered head injuries in a pre-season crash. He returned only to crash in Spain then two races later in France which effectively ended his career. The 1995 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 47th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Honda's Mick Doohan captured his second consecutive 500cc crown in 1995. Suzuki's Daryl Beattie had an early season points lead but crashed and injured himself in practice at Assen. Luca Cadalora again won two races for Yamaha but failed to show any consistency. Kevin Schwantz retired after the third race of the season with his numerous injuries finally taking their toll. Max Biaggi also won his second consecutive 250 championship for Aprilia with his eight victories second only to Mike Hailwood's 10 victories in 1966. Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. Marco Melandri
Marco Melandri (born 7 August 1982) is an Italian retired motorcycle road racer who is a five-time premier class race winner. He is the 2002 250 cc World Champion and runner-up in 125 cc, MotoGP and Superbike World Championship. He competed in the MotoGP class from 2003 to 2010 and then a brief return with Aprilia in 2015. Melandri's best years in MotoGP came in and with these two seasons being the only seasons he won races in MotoGP, the same as title rival Nicky Hayden. Melandri finished runner-up in to Valentino Rossi with two wins. The season is regarded as his best ever as he won three races and finished 24 points behind eventual champion Nicky Hayden. The Honda RC211V is a 990 cc (60 cu in) four-stroke race motorcycle from HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) developed in 2001 to replace the two-stroke Honda NSR500. It was developed as a direct result of major changes to the regulations for the World Championship motorcycle road racing class for the 2002 season.
