Forestdale is a suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. In the , Forestdale had a population of 2,531 people. Geography Forestdale is bounded to the west by the Brisbane-to-Sydney railway line and by Johnson Road to the north. Oxley Creek flows through the suburb from the south-west ( Greenbank) to the north ( Heathwood/ Larapinta). Forestdale is named as such due to the lack of tree clearance compared to surrounding suburbs, although the risk of bushfire is greater than its neighbouring suburbs. "Forest" is from the modern day English word meaning a dense growth of trees and "dale" is originated from Middle English meaning a man who lived in the valley. The suffix is a reference to Robin Hood, an archer according to medieval folk tales. Many of the streets in the suburb are named after characters from Robin Hood stories. Forrestdale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Armadale. It is named after John Forrest, the first premier of Western Australia. Geography Forrestdale is home to Forrestdale Lake, a nature reserve important for waterbirds, many of which breed there. It usually fills in winter and dries out in summer. The nature reserve contains the only known remaining habitat of ''Neopasiphae simplicior'', a critically endangered native bee. Forestdale is a residential neighbourhood of southeast London in the London Borough of Croydon. It is sometimes considered to be part of Addington, its ancient and ecclesiastical parish. It is located south of Upper Shirley, east of Selsdon, south-west of Addington's historic centre, north-west of New Addington and north of Farleigh. Forestdale is a village and historic district in North Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, one-half mile from Slatersville, Rhode Island. The Forest Dale Historic District is located in the southeastern part of Salt Lake City, Utah and is roughly bounded by 700 East, Interstate 80, Commonwealth Avenue, and 900 East. It includes the "cohesive core" of the Forest Dale Subdivision platted in 1890, as well as the larger Town of Forest Dale, which was incorporated on January 6, 1902, disincorporated in the fall of 1912, and reabsorbed into the city of Salt Lake City. Both the subdivision and town were created by George Mousley Cannon (December 25, 1861–January 23, 1937), a member of the Cannon family, a prominent Intermountain West political family. The land for Forest Dale was originally Forest Farm, which Cannon had bought in 1889 from the estate of Brigham Young.
