The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, her first number one album there. Dan Hartman produced most of the tracks on the album, including the hit single " The Best", which has gone on to become one of Turner's signature songs. Commercial success While ''Foreign Affair'' didn't perform as well as Turner's previous albums '' Private Dancer'' and ''Break Every Rule'' in the US, where it failed to crack the Top 30 in the ''Billboard'' 200, it was a worldwide hit, selling over six million copies. In the UK alone the album sold over 1.5 million copies en ...

The song had moderate international success, reaching number 26 on the UK Singles Chart. Background The song was intended for Dire Straits' fourth album ''Love over Gold''. Legal restrictions prevented the original recording being used by Tina Turner, so two years later it was remade by members of Dire Straits. Terry Williams replaced the original drummer Pick Withers. Knopfler did not appear on the track and was replaced by Jeff Beck. Turn ...
