For Woman's Favor
''For Woman's Favor'' is a 1924 American silent drama film directed by O. A. C. Lund and starring Seena Owen and Henry Hull. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Howard Fiske finds himself penniless and disillusioned and deserted by June Paige, the woman he loves. His friend turns wolf and hounds him for money, demanding that he blackmail the young woman. The young man happens to read the book ''The Falcon'', whose plot resembles his life, and reads how the lover sacrifices all for the woman he loves. When June comes to obtain her letters, the hero gives them to her despite the remonstrances of his friend. June realizes the bigness of his nature and that she still loves him. Seena Owen
Seena Owen (born Signe Auen; November 14, 1894 – August 15, 1966) was an American silent film actress and screenwriter. Early life Born Signe Auen in Spokane, Washington, she was the youngest of three children raised by Jens Christensen and Karen (née Sorensen) Auen. Her father and mother came from Denmark in the late 1880s and settled in Minnesota where they married in 1888. Within a short period of time they moved to Portland, Oregon and then Spokane, where her father became proprietor of the Columbia Pharmacy. In her youth Owen was enrolled at Brunot Hall, an Episcopalian girls' school in Spokane, founded by Bishop Lemuel H. Wells. She was also educated in Copenhagen. Her life as the daughter of an affluent business owner changed in her late teens when the family business failed and it became necessary to seek employment. A lost film is a feature or short film that no longer exists in any studio archive, private collection, public archive or the U.S. Library of Congress. Arthur Donaldson (actor)
Arthur Donaldson (5 April 186928 September 1955), was a Swedish-American actor and opera singer. He appeared in 71 films between 1910 and 1934. Biography Donaldson was born in Norsholm, Sweden. His father was a sea captain, and his mother was an actress. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Stockholm. He moved to the United States at the age of fourteen and quickly became a prolific actor on stage. He made his film debut in 1910. Donaldson debuted on stage when he was 7 years old, performing in ''Uncle Brown's Leather Couch'' at the Stora Theatre in Norr Koping, Swededn. He first performed on stage in the United States in 1890 as part of a Swedish company. Donaldson moved from theatrical productions to singing, first with the Duff Opera Company and then performing in a concert tour with Emma Cecilia Thursby.
