The 2011 Island Games on the Isle of Wight was the 12th edition in which a football tournament was played at the multi-games competition. It was contested by 15 teams. There were numerous talking points in the early stages of the competition. The Rhodes team was disqualified after the second game for repeated indiscipline, and were suspended from the next two Island Games. St Georges Park, Newport
St Georges Park was an association football stadium in Newport on the Isle of Wight. It was home to Newport (IOW) F.C. and the Isle of Wight official football team, which represents Isle of Wight at the bi-annual island games. Oakfield, Isle Of Wight
Oakfield is a suburb of the town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight, England. Historically part of the St Helens parish, it was absorbed into Ryde Borough in 1933 and in turn into Medina Borough in 1974. Oakfield largely consists of light industrial units and various developments of social housing. The area bounded by High Street, School Street and Reed Street was re-developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with Victorian stone-built cottages demolished to make way for local authority flats and houses. Rookley is a village and civil parish on the Isle of Wight. It is located five kilometres south of Newport near the centre of the island.
