The fourteenth edition of the Association football, football at the 2003 Pan American Games, Pan American Games was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from August 2 to August 15, 2003. A total of eight teams competed, with Mexico national under-23 football team, Mexico defending its title. The CONMEBOL teams played with their U-20 teams while teams from CONCACAF played with their U-23 squads. Peter Prendergast (born September 23, 1963) is a football (soccer), football referee from Jamaica. A FIFA referee since January 1, 1994, his first international match was USA men's national soccer team, USA against Republic of Ireland national football team, Ireland, on June 9, 1996. Since then he has refereed many matches in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the Summer Olympic Games, Olympics, the FIFA World Cup and the Confederations Cup. Prendergast also refereed Costa Rica - United States (2-1) in the qualification stages for the same World Cup. Vágner Silva de Souza (born 11 June 1984), known as Vágner Love, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Sport Recife. Luis Ernesto Pérez Gómez (born 12 January 1981) is a Mexican former professional footballer and current manager. Club career Pérez debuted in the Primera División with Necaxa in the 1999 Invierno season, playing his first game 21 September in a 3–1 victory against Santos Laguna.
