Football 7-a-side At The 2015 Parapan American Games
Football 7-a-side competitions at the 2015 Parapan American Games in Toronto were held from 8 to 15 August at the Pan Am / Parapan Am Fields, which are located on the back campus of the University of Toronto. Football 7-a-side make its return to the program, after last being staged in 2007 Parapan American Games, 2007. The winner of the tournament qualified for the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As Brazil won the competition the second place Argentina qualified for the Paralympics. Participating teams and officials Qualifying A total of five teams competed in the football seven a side competition. The host nation (Canada) automatically qualified a team. A team may consist of a maximum of 14 athletes. Pan Am / Parapan Am Fields
The Back Campus Fields is a field hockey facility on the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The facility is the home to the school's Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team. The facility was built for the 2015 Pan American Games and hosted the field hockey competition for the games. The facility also hosted 5 and 7-a-side football competitions during the 2015 Parapan American Games. The facility was referred to as the ''Pan Am/Parapan Am Fields'' during the games. Development Re-construction of the fields began in July 2013 and was completed in 2014, one year before the games were scheduled to start. Lautaro (Anglicized as 'Levtaru') ( arn, Lef-Traru " swift hawk") (; 1534? – April 29, 1557) was a young Mapuche toqui known for leading the indigenous resistance against Spanish conquest in Chile and developing the tactics that would continue to be employed by the Mapuche during the long-running Arauco War. Levtaru was captured by Spanish forces in his early youth, and he spent his teenage years as a personal servant of chief conquistador Pedro de Valdivia, but escaped in 1551.
