Football 7-a-side competitions at the 2007 Parapan American Games in Rio de Janeiro was held from 13 – 18 August 2007 at the Deodoro Military Club. Participating teams and officials Qualifying A total of five teams will qualify to compete in the football five a side competition. The host nation (Brazil) automatically qualifies a team. A team may consist of a maximum of 14 athletes. Deodoro Military Club
The Deodoro Military Circle is a Brazilian Army sport facility in Rio de Janeiro, at the Military Village, on the western side of the city. It has hosted the Pan American Games, Rio 2007. Equestrian (Dressage, Eventing, and Show Jumping), Field Hockey, Modern Pentathlon (shooting, fencing, swimming, show jumping and a cross country race), Sport Shooting (rifle, trap, pistol and skeet) and Archery competitions. Permanent venues were built at the site, such as the National Equestrian Center and the National Shooting Center, besides the Archery and Field Hockey which held future competitions in these disciplines. During the Parapan American Games Rio 2007, the Field Hockey Center held 5-a-Side and 7-a-Side football matches. 7-a-side football at the 2008 Summer Paralympics was held at the Olympic Green Hockey Field from September 8 to September 16. One event was contested, a men's team competition. Classification The sport of 7-a-side football is for people with cerebral palsy; athletes classified as CP5 through CP8 may take part. The classification system grades player by the extent of their disability, with lower numbers corresponding to more severe impairment. At least one CP5 or CP6 player, and no more than three CP8 players, may be on the field at a given time. 2002 CPISRA Pan-American Soccer Championship
The 2002 CPISRA Pan-American Soccer Championship was an American championship for men's national 7-a-side association football teams. CPISRA stands for Cerebral Palsy International Sports & Recreation Association. Athletes with a physical disability competed. The Championship took place in Chile from 22 to 29 September 2002. Football 7-a-side was played with modified FIFA rules. Among the modifications were that there were seven players, no offside, a smaller playing field, and permission for one-handed throw-ins. Matches consisted of two thirty-minute halves, with a fifteen-minute half-time break. The Championships was a qualifying event for the 2003 CPISRA Soccer World Championships.
