Foosackly's
Foosackly's (stylized as foosackly's) is an American chain of chicken restaurants in coastal Alabama and Northwest Florida. Background Foosackly's was co-founded by Will Fusaiotti and Eric Brechtel. The two attended Louisiana State University together. Fusaiotti moved to Mobile with his family in 1995 to help his father open a Smoothie King. Fusaiotti and Brechtel had never fried a piece of chicken until the weekend before opening their first location on University Boulevard in Mobile in 2000. The first location opened on April 28, 2000. The restaurant has grown into a mini-chain in Alabama with 14 current operating locations in Mobile, Daphne, Foley, Saraland, Semmes, Auburn, and two in Pensacola, Florida. The chain opened its fourteenth location, in Tuscaloosa, in 2020, and has plans to open further locations in Baldwin County and in Pensacola. Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is an American fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey in 1996. History Founders Todd Graves and Craig Silvey were both enrolled in a business plan writing course while studying at different universities. Graves wrote the business plan and Silvey submitted it, for which Silvey received a C-minus grade. At the time, Graves worked at Guthrie's Chicken Fingers. The business plan was rejected numerous times by potential investors, so Graves earned the needed money working as a boilermaker in a Los Angeles, California refinery and fishing for sockeye salmon in Alaska. Guthrie's is a fast casual franchised restaurant chain headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, United States. The first restaurant was opened in Haleyville, in 1965 by Hal Guthrie. By 1978 the menu would consist primarily of chicken fingers, signature sauce, French fries, coleslaw and Texas toast, becoming the first to largely center its menu on chicken fingers. United States Air Force KC-135 Replacement Effort
KC-X is the United States Air Force (USAF) program to procure its next-generation aerial refueling tanker aircraft to replace some of the older Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers. The contest was for a production contract for 179 new tankers with estimated value of US$35 billion. The two contenders to replace the KC-135 aircraft were Boeing and EADS, following the elimination of US Aerospace, Inc. from the bidding process. The current KC-X program follows earlier attempts by the USAF to procure a new tanker. A 2002 plan had the USAF leasing Boeing KC-767 tankers, followed by a 2003 modification where the USAF would buy most of the KC-767 aircraft and lease several more of them.
