A food truck rally (also called a food truck festival, food truck rodeo,(9 June 2013) ''Raleigh News and Observer''(3 September 2012) ''Raleigh News and Observer'' food truck gathering, or similar names) is an event where a group of food trucks gather in one location. The events typically feature "modern" food trucks emphasizing food quality and variety, a trend which has grown significantly in popularity in the United States since approximately 2008. Formal gatherings of food trucks as an event in the United States began in 2010. LentSpace - Food Trucks
LentSpace is a temporary outdoor art space and sculpture garden located in Hudson Square, Lower Manhattan, New York City. The space, which opened in September 2009, is bounded by Varick Street to the west, Canal Street (Manhattan), Canal Street and Albert Capsouto Park to the south, Grand Street (Manhattan), Grand Street to the north, and Sullivan Street and Duarte Square to the east. History The block occupied by LentSpace is part of a parcel of land granted to Trinity Church (Manhattan), Trinity Church by Anne, Queen of Great Britain, Queen Anne in 1705. In the years prior to the park's opening in 2009, the church's development company demolished a number of buildings previously located on the site. Fast food is a type of mass-produced food designed for commercial resale, with a strong priority placed on speed of service. It is a commercial term, limited to food sold in a restaurant or store with frozen, preheated or precooked ingredients and served in packaging for take-out/take-away. Fast food was created as a commercial strategy to accommodate large numbers of busy commuters, travelers and wage workers. Foodie
A foodie is a person who has an ardent or refined interest in food, and who eats food not only out of hunger but also as a hobby. The related terms "gastronome" and "gourmet" define roughly the same thing, i.e. a person who enjoys food for pleasure. But the connotation of "foodie" differs slightly—a sort of everyman with a love for food culture and different foods, but some, like Paul Levy, say the foodie can still be a "foodist". Earliest uses of the word Foodie is a relatively new word in our language, having only been adopted in the early 1980s, yet it comes from the much older word food, which has existed in our language for as long as there has been anything that could be considered English.
