''Food and Drink'' is a British television series on BBC Two. First broadcast between 1982 and 2002, it was the first national television programme in the UK to cover the subject of food and drink without cookery and recipe demonstrations. History The first series was presented by Simon Bates and Gillian Miles, and introduced Jilly Goolden in her first regular television appearances as the programme's wine expert. Russell Harty presented filmed location reports from exceptional restaurants around Britain. This series featured the innovative idea of a small contributing audience of 20 people who were called "tasters and testers". The first series broadcast in the summer months but drew an average audience of 1.5 million a week, a high rating for BBC Two in the summer in the 1980s. Tom Kerridge
Thomas Kerridge (born 27 July 1973) is an English chef. After initially appearing in several small television parts as a child actor, he decided to attend culinary school at the age of 18. He has since worked at a variety of British restaurants, including the Rhodes in the Square and Adlards. With his wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge, Kerridge opened a pub, the Hand & Flowers, in 2005. Within a year he gained his first Michelin star. In 2012 list, the Hand & Flowers became the first pub to win a second Michelin star. Kerridge opened a second pub, the Coach, in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, which has also won a Michelin star. He opened the Butcher's Tap (butchers and pub under one roof) and opened his first London restaurant in 2018 at Corinthia Hotel London. Michel Albert Roux (born 23 May 1960) previously known as Michel Roux Jr., is an English-French two Michelin starred chef. He owns the London restaurant ''Le Gavroche.''
