Flyer Enterprises
Flyer Enterprises is a student-run business organization at the University of Dayton. It operates nine businesses around campus and serves as part of the university's entrepreneurship program, though it does not exclude students with other majors. Dayton () is the sixth-largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Montgomery County. A small part of the city extends into Greene County. Experiential Education
Experiential education is a philosophy of education that describes the process that occurs between a teacher and student that infuses direct experience with the learning environment and content. The term is not interchangeable with experiential learning; however experiential learning is a sub-field and operates under the methodologies of experiential education. The Association for Experiential Education regards experiential education as "a philosophy that informs many methodologies in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people's capacity to contribute to their communities". The University of Dayton (UD) is a private, Catholic research university in Dayton, Ohio. Founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary, it is one of three Marianist universities in the nation and the second-largest private university in Ohio. The University of Dayton Ghetto, officially the Student Neighborhood, located in Dayton, Ohio, Dayton, Ohio, is home to upperclassmen at the University of Dayton (UD). Housing in "the Ghetto" is leased in an arrangement that resembles both traditional university housing and a landlord/tenant relationship. Tracing its history back to the 1870s, the neighborhood now includes more than 200 university-owned houses as well as landlord-owned houses, high-density housing and gathering spaces. With the inclusion of Holy Angels and The Darkside, or officially "the North Student Neighborhood", two smaller neighborhoods the university owns property in, there are more than 400 houses currently used as student residential space. Dayton Flyers
The Dayton Flyers are the intercollegiate athletic teams of the University of Dayton of Dayton, Ohio. All Flyers intercollegiate sports teams participate at the NCAA Division I level. The football team competes in the Division I FCS non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, and women's golf plays in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while all other sports compete in the non-football Atlantic 10 Conference. The Flyers name The name is a reference and homage to Daytonians Orville and Wilbur Wright who pioneered heavier than air flight.
