Flush, Kansas
Flush is an unincorporated community in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, United States. It is located between St George and Westmoreland. History Flush derived its name from Michael Floersch, a pioneer settler. When the post office was opened in Flush in 1899, the postmaster-general could not pronounce Floersch and changed the name to Flush. Postal service was discontinued in 1927. The church and community were settled predominately with German-speaking immigrants. The church maintained German-speaking priests until 1927. The church also opened a parish school in the 1890s which ceased operation in 1976. The town was poised for increased growth with the planned expansion of a railroad through Flush in 1908. The Floersch family even constructed a grain mill in Flush that was designed to serve the railroad. "Flush" is a song by American rock musician Brian "Head" Welch that was released as the first single from his debut album, ''Save Me from Myself'', on July 8, 2008 exclusively on the iTunes Store. Production In the digital booklet that came with "Flush", composer Brian Welch commented on the production of the song. The song was "created accidentally" in 2005. Welch had just finished writing the song "Save Me from Myself" and was planning to leave the studio for the night. However, he lost the key to the studio, and decided to remain there while his friend brought the key to him. While Welch was waiting for his friend, he had the thought "I'm gonna go back inside, grab my keyboard, and whatever my hands do, I'll make a song out of it." He immediately started playing the opening riff for "Flush". Welch then recorded the idea. A CPU cache is a hardware cache used by the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer to reduce the average cost (time or energy) to access data from the main memory. A cache is a smaller, faster memory, located closer to a processor core, which stores copies of the data from frequently used main memory locations. Most CPUs have a hierarchy of multiple cache levels (L1, L2, often L3, and rarely even L4), with different instruction-specific and data-specific caches at level 1. Allocate-on-flush
Allocate-on-flush (also called delayed allocation) is a file system feature implemented in HFS+, XFS, Reiser4, ZFS, Btrfs, and ext4. The feature also closely resembles an older technique that Berkeley's UFS called "block reallocation". When blocks must be allocated to hold pending writes, disk space for the appended data is subtracted from the free-space counter, but not actually allocated in the free-space bitmap. Instead, the appended data are held in memory until they must be flushed to storage due to memory pressure, when the kernel decides to flush dirty buffers, or when the application performs the Unix ''sync'' system call, for example. This has the effect of batching together allocations into larger runs. Such delayed processing reduces CPU usage, and tends to reduce disk fragmentation, especially for files which grow slowly. A seep or flush is a moist or wet place where water, usually groundwater, reaches the earth's surface from an underground aquifer. Description Seeps are usually not of sufficient volume to be flowing beyond their immediate above-ground location. They are part of the limnology-geomorphology system. Like a higher volume spring, the water is only from underground sources. Seeps mostly occur in lower elevation areas because water runs downhill, but can happen higher up if the groundwater present is abundant enough. Along with natural seeps, man made seeps can occur by digging anywhere where there is wet ground. This method can be useful for survival purposes and helps the local wildlife by adding another water source to the area. Saline Flush
A saline flush is the method of clearing intravenous lines (IVs), central lines or arterial lines of any medicine or other perishable liquids to keep the lines (tubes) and entry area clean and sterile. Typically in flushing an intravenous cannula, a 5 - 10ml syringe of saline is emptied into the medication port of the cannula's connecting hub after insertion of the cannula.
