Fluke (band)
Fluke was an English electronic music group formed in the late 1980s by Mike Bryant, Jon Fugler and Mike Tournier. The band were noted for their diverse range of electronic styles, including house, techno, ambient, big beat and downtempo; for their reclusivity, rarely giving interviews; and for lengthy timespans between albums. Fluke produced five original studio albums, three compilation albums, and a live album. They made several line-up changes over the years, with credited appearances attributed to Neil Davenport on guitars, Robin Goodridge on drums and Hugh Bryder as a DJ. In the tour for their fourth album ''Risotto'' (1997), they were joined on stage by singer Rachel Stewart, who continued as lead female vocalist and dancer for all of Fluke's live performances between 1997 and 1999. Fluke Corporation is a manufacturer of industrial test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment including electronic test equipment. It was started in 1948 by John Fluke while he was employed at General Electric. History Fluke Corporation was founded by John Fluke in October 1953 as the John Fluke Manufacturing Company, Inc., producing electrical metering equipment. In 1987, Fluke partnered with the Dutch electronics manufacturer Philips. Together, the companies developed the scopemeter, an instrument combining features of an oscilloscope and a multimeter. A two-time PHF All-Star, she formerly served as captain of the Connecticut Whale and is currently the 9th leading scorer in league history. Plot The novel starts with the birth of Fluke, a dog who soon realizes that he used to be a man, the book follows Fluke's efforts to find out what happened to him and why he is a dog. Louise Fluke
Louise Funk (February 9, 1900 - July 27, 1986) was born in Van Buren, Arkansas to R. W. and Trimmier Sloan Funk and moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma with her family a year later. As a young girl she received art lessons from Marjorie Dodge Tapp. After graduating from Shawnee High School, she continued her art lessons at Columbia University and the Chicago Art Institute. After returning to Shawnee, she married George Fluke on December 18, 1924. While sewing her own wedding gown, she learned that the state organization of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) had announced a contest to design a new state flag. Her fiance encouraged her to take the time to enter the contest. She took three weeks to study artifacts at the Oklahoma Historical Society, and entered five different designs.
