Flou
Flou is an alternative rock/nu metal band from Asunción, Paraguay, created in 1997. They are one of the most popular and successful rock bands from Paraguay. History The band was formed in 1997 by a group of friends; throughout the years the band went through several changes in line-up and music style that culminated in the year 2000 with the shaping and establishment of the original band. In 2001 the band released its first Demo (music), demo titled "Despetar" (Awakening) with five songs. The public's response was immediate, as the demo sold out immediately. This success led the band to sign with one of the biggest Paraguayan record labels, Kamikaze Records. In 2003 the band recorded and released its first album, ''Ataraxia''. This album was a success and by the end of the year Flou was chosen as the "Best Paraguayan band of the year" by the Rock & Pop FM radio station. Pavlos Sidiropoulos ( el, Παύλος Σιδηρόπουλος; 27 July 1948 – 6 December 1990) was a Greek musician noted for combining rock music with Greek music. He is considered one of the pillars of Greek rock due to his involvement so early in its foundation. In particular, ''Flou'' (1976), an album produced with his band Spyridoula, had a major impact on the rock scene in Greece. Early life Pavlos Sidiropoulos was born on 27 July 1948 in Athens, Greece to Konstantinos and Ioanna "Jenny" Sidiropoulos. His father was born in Sokhumi, Russia (present-day Abkhazia) into a wealthy Pontic family that cultivated and sold tobacco. He later established ELFOT, which at the time was the only company selling photography paper in Greece. Pavlos' mother Jenny was from Heraklion, Crete. Rosario Messina, (Aci Castello, December 1942 – Meda, March 9, 2011), was an Italian entrepreneur, who in 1978 founded the Italian company Flou, an avant-garde furniture manufacturer. Biography Rosario Messina was born in 1942 in the Sicilian city of Aci Castello in 1942. His father – a farmer – died when he was a young man, leaving him the responsibility of the family. He was the eldest of five children and in 1958, he began working for the La Rinascente department store in Catania, first as an apprentice, then as a salesperson and finally as head of department. Simultaneously, he attended evening courses in book-keeping and qualified in record time, managing to complete five academic years in one. Following his experience with La Rinascente, he worked in the local branch of Zanussi-Rex, the most important Italian manufacturer of electrical appliances at that time.
