Florida Tech Panthers Football
The Florida Tech Panthers football program was the intercollegiate American football team for the Florida Institute of Technology located in the U.S. state of Florida. The team competed in the NCAA Division II and was a member of the Gulf South Conference. Florida Tech's first football team was fielded in 2013, and the final team was fielded in 2019. Steve Englehart was the first and only head coach. In May 2020, Florida Tech shut down its football program due to budget cuts that followed the COVID-19 pandemic. Florida Tech Panther Stadium is an American football stadium located in Melbourne, Florida. The facility served as the home field for the NCAA Division II Florida Tech Panthers football team representing the Florida Institute of Technology, and is the home field for the Palm Bay Magnet High School Pirates football team. Prior to July 2015, the facility was known as Pirate Stadium before Florida Institute of Technology, Florida Tech purchased naming rights for the stadium. The Valdosta State football team represents Valdosta State University in football. The Blazers are a member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) in NCAA Division II. Valdosta State University has had a football team since 1981. The Blazers play in Bazemore–Hyder Stadium in Valdosta, Georgia, which has a capacity of 11,249. Savannah State Tigers Football
The Savannah State Tigers football team represents Savannah State University in college football. The Tigers are members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The football team is traditionally the most popular sport at Savannah State and home games are played at Ted A. Wright Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. After moving to the NCAA Division I FCS in 2000, the Tigers compiled a record of 80–137. While in the FCS, the team competed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. In 2019, the Tigers moved back to NCAA Division II and rejoined the SIAC. Savannah State has played football since 1902, though they did not field a team in 1943 to 1945.
