Fiona McFarland
Fiona Fuller McFarland (born 1985) is an American U.S. Navy reservist and a state legislator in Florida. She currently serves in the Florida House of Representatives representing the 73rd district, which covers parts of Sarasota. She is a member of the Republican Party. McFarland is the daughter of former White House National Security Advisor KT McFarland. Originally elected to the House of Representatives in November 2020, and reelected again in 2022, McFarland has served on a number of committees. Currently, she is the chair of the Transportation & Modals Subcommittee and is a representative of the Infrastructure Strategies Committee, Civil Justice Subcommittee, Energy, Communications & Cybersecurity Subcommittee, and the Regulatory Reform & Economic Development Subcommittee. Sarasota () is a city in Sarasota County on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The area is renowned for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, and the Sarasota School of Architecture. Joe Gruters
Joe Gruters (born June 7, 1977) is the Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, and a member of the Florida Senate representing the 23rd District which consists of Sarasota County and part of Charlotte County. He was previously a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Earlier in his career, Gruters worked on the campaign of U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan as campaign manager and was vice chairman of the Republican Party of Florida and chairman of the Republican Party of Sarasota. Parrish, Florida
Parrish is an unincorporated community in northwestern Manatee County, Florida, United States. The community is located near the intersection of U.S. 301 and State Road 62 and is part of the North Port–Sarasota–Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Parrish contains the Florida Railroad Museum, which operates weekend passenger rides round trip from Parrish about northeast to Willow. Climate History The first "settler" in the area would be William B. Hooker and William H. Johnson who established a plantation named Oak Hill in 1850 with an attempt being made to grow sea-island cotton but this effort failed. This plantation would burn down in the Seminole War but the area would continue to be referred to as Oak Hill. Greg Steube
William Gregory Steube ( ; born May 19, 1978) is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2019. His district is based in Sarasota. A member of the Republican Party, Steube served three terms in the Florida House of Representatives, representing the Sarasota-Manatee area from 2010 to 2016, as well as two years in the Florida Senate until 2018, representing Sarasota County and the western part of Charlotte County.
