Flinn Lazier
Flinn Lazier (born 4 April 1999 in Vail, Colorado) is an American racing driver. Lazier has raced in Formula Vee, Formula Enterprise, Formula Atlantic, Formula 4, and USF2000. Lazier was also a competitive skier with the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. Auto racing career Lazier was born into a family with a rich auto racing history. Flinn's father, Buddy Lazier, won the 1996 Indianapolis 500, 2000 IRL Championship, and several more professional races. Bob Lazier (Flinn's grandfather) was the 1981 Indianapolis 500 rookie of the year and won the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in Formula B in 1971. Lastly, Jaques Lazier is Flinn's uncle. Jacques had won a single IndyCar Series race in 2001 and also won the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in Formula Vee in 1996. The 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series saw the addition of five races and loss of one to bring the total to 13. Super-G
Super giant slalom, or super-G, is a racing discipline of alpine skiing. Along with the faster downhill, it is regarded as a "speed" event, in contrast to the technical events giant slalom and slalom. It debuted as an official World Cup event during the 1983 season and was added to the official schedule of the World Championships in 1987 and the Winter Olympics in 1988. Much like downhill, a super-G course consists of widely set gates that racers must pass through. The course is set so that skiers must turn more than in downhill, though the speeds are still much higher than in giant slalom (hence the name). Each athlete only has one run to clock the best time. In the Olympics, super-G courses are usually set on the same slopes as the downhill, but with a lower starting point. Copper Mountain is a mountain and ski resort located in Summit County, Colorado, about west of Denver on Interstate 70. The resort has of in-bounds terrain under lease from the U.S. Forest Service, White River National Forest, Dillon Ranger District. It is operated by POWDR. History The resort opened in November 1972. Vail Ski Resort is a ski resort in the western United States, located near the town of Vail in Eagle County, Colorado. Newman Wachs Racing (also referred to as NWR) is an auto racing team owned by Eddie Wachs and, until his death, Paul Newman. NWR was based outside of Chicago in Mundelein, Illinois. Newman and Wachs met when they both competed in Can-Am series in the mid-1970s and over the years talked about joining forces to create a driver development race team. They formed a Champ Car Atlantic team for the 2006 season to meet their objectives. In 2009, John Edwards won the Atlantic Championship, beating teammate Jonathan Summerton in a tiebreaker. Formula SCCA or Formula Enterprises is a class of open wheel race car sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. A spec racing class, all chassis are produced by SCCA Enterprises in association with Van Diemen and include a sealed Mazda MZR powerplant. The chassis can also be fitted with closed-wheel bodywork and converted into a sportscar to race in C Sports Racer or the L3 class of IMSA Prototype Lites.
