Flaming Moe's
"Flaming Moe's" is the tenth episode of the third season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 21, 1991. In the episode, Homer tells Moe Szyslak about the Flaming Homer, an alcoholic cocktail of cough medicine and fire that he invented. Moe steals Homer's recipe, renames it the Flaming Moe and sells it at his tavern. The drink is wildly successful and boosts Moe's business, but Homer is angry at him for his betrayal and seeks revenge. The episode was written by Robert Cohen and directed by Rich Moore, with assistance from Alan Smart (who would later work on ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' as an animation director). "Flaming Moe's" was the first episode of the show to feature Moe in a prominent role. "Flaming Moe" is the eleventh episode of the twenty-second season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on January 16, 2011. It follows the efforts of Waylon Smithers to earn Mr. Burns' respect by turning Moe's Tavern into a successful gay bar, leading Moe to become more popular as a gay man than Smithers. Meanwhile, Principal Skinner looks for love with the substitute music teacher. Plot Waylon Smithers learns that he is not included in Mr. Burns' will, the main beneficiary now being Burns' pet giant tortoise. "Where Everybody Knows Your Name", also credited as "Theme from ''Cheers'' (Where Everybody Knows Your Name)", is the theme song from the television sitcom '' Cheers'', as well as the debut single for Gary Portnoy. The song was written by Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo, and performed by Portnoy in 1982. Shortly after the premiere of ''Cheers'', Portnoy went back into the studio to record a longer version of the song that made the U.S. and British pop charts. The full-length version was made available on Portnoy's 2004 album ''Keeper''.
