Fiumi Di Parole
"Fiumi di parole" (literally "Rivers of words") is a song recorded by the Italian duo Jalisse. The song was written by Fabio Ricci, Carmen Di Domenico and Alessandra Drusian. It is best known as the entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997, held in Dublin, after winning the Sanremo Music Festival 1997. Background The song is a dramatic ballad, in which the lead singer tells her lover that "rivers of words" have come between them. She claims not to understand what he is saying anymore, and believes that she is losing his respect. Despite this, she tells him "I'll give you my heart, if you want / if you can, speak to it now", implying that there is still some hope for the relationship. Jalisse
Jalisse () is an Italian musical duo consisting of spouses Alessandra Drusian (born 18 May 1969) and Fabio Ricci (born 5 September 1965). In 1997 they won the Sanremo Festival, "Big" category, with the song "Fiumi di parole" and took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, ranking 4th. Career Beginnings The two met for the first time in 1990 in the studio of a record company. Drusian in that period competed with numerous victories in musical competitions in Veneto and Friuli–Venezia Giulia; Ricci was the singer and keyboardist of a group called Vox Populi, with whom he had released a maxi-single entitled "I'm So Bad" and presented himself as a songwriter to the record companies. Marcos Llunas is a Spanish singer-songwriter, known in Spain and Latin America. His debut single " Para reconquistarte" reached the No.1 spot all over Hispanic America. He is also known for his successful participation in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest. Llunas is the father of the singer turned actor Spanish Izan Llunas. The Sanremo Music Festival 1997 was the 47th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, in the late February 1997 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Mike Bongiorno (in his eleventh and final hosting of the Festival), supported by Piero Chiambretti and Valeria Marini. Composers Pino Donaggio and Giorgio Moroder and lyricist Carla Vistarini served as the artistic directors.
