Cross Church is a Baptist multi-site megachurch based in Springdale, Arkansas. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Across its three campuses, Cross Church is one of the largest churches in the state of Arkansas. The senior pastor is Nick Floyd, son of Ronnie Floyd- longtime senior pastor of Cross Church for thirty years when he left to become full-time CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention. History The church was founded in the 1870 as Landmark Liberty Baptist Church. In 1910, the church was renamed ''First Baptist Church Of Springdale''. In 1976, it founded the Shiloh Christian School. Springdale is the List of cities and towns in Arkansas, fourth-largest city in Arkansas, United States. The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a Christian denomination based in the United States. A multi-site church is a specific church congregation which holds services at multiple geographical locations, either within a specific metropolitan area or, increasingly, several such areas. Characteristic Within the multi-site approach, both the primary location (usually the one with the largest physical attendance) and the offsite locations will commonly have their own music worship and announcements pertaining to that congregation. Ronnie Floyd
Ronald Wayne Floyd (born November 11, 1955) is an American religious leader and a former pastor and Southern Baptist executive. Ronnie was the Senior Pastor of Cross Church (formerly called First Baptist Springdale), a Southern Baptist megachurch located in Northwest Arkansas, and served as the 61st president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2014-2016. He resigned his post as Senior Pastor in 2019 to become the full-time CEO of the Southern Baptist Executive Committee and run the day-to-day operations of the denomination. Shiloh Christian School is a private Christian school in Springdale, Arkansas, United States. History Shiloh Christian School was founded in 1976 as a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Springdale, by Dennis Cottrell and Tom Ellis, under the leadership of Pastor Cliff Palmer. The school opened with 180 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. A new grade was added each year. The school graduated its first high school class in 1983, with twelve students.
