Firestar (Angelica "Angel" Jones) is a superhero appearing in media and American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Dennis Marks, Dan Spiegle, Christy Marx, John Romita Sr., and Rick Hoberg, the character first appeared in 1981 on the NBC animated television series ''Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends'' as Fire-Star. Firestar has the ability to generate and manipulate microwave radiation, allowing her to fly and create intense heat and flames. In the comics, she has acted as a solo hero and also as a member of the Hellions, the New Warriors, the Avengers, and the X-Men. Michael Flynn (author)
Michael Francis Flynn (born 1947) is an American science fiction author. Nearly all of Flynn's work falls under the category of hard science fiction, although his treatment of it can be unusual since he has applied the rigor of hard science fiction to "softer" sciences such as sociology in works such as ''In the Country of the Blind''. Much of his short fiction has appeared in '' Analog Science Fiction and Fact''. Biography Flynn was born in Easton, Pennsylvania. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics from La Salle University and an M.S. in topology from Marquette University. He has been employed as an industrial quality engineer and statistician. ''Firestar'' was a four-issue comic book limited series, published in 1986 by Marvel Comics, that established the origin story of the Firestar character within Marvel Comics continuity. Firestar was originally a character created solely for the animated series ''Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends'' as a "fire" counterpart for previously established character Iceman, and had no appearances in Marvel comics prior to the animated series. The first Marvel comic that Firestar appeared in was 1981's ''Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends'' #1. The first published, in-continuity appearance of Firestar was ''Uncanny X-Men'' #193 (May 1985). The limited series presents Firestar's comic book origin for the first time in print, which differs significantly from the animated character's origin. The ''Warriors'' novel series is written by Erin Hunter. Due to the large number of characters present in the novel series, this list is divided by Clan. Characters listed under a specific arc may still play a significant role in other arcs. Overview Naming conventions In the ''Warriors'' universe, the characters in the five warrior Clans (ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan) have names composed of two parts. Each cat's name has a prefix (Blue, Bramble, Tall, etc.) which generally stays constant throughout their life. The name's suffix varies through the character's lifespan and position within the Clan, with the bestowing of the new name being a component of the ceremonies marking these role changes. As a kitten, the character's name ends with "-kit" (Bluekit, Bramblekit, Tallkit, etc.).
