Siobhán Margaret Finneran (born 27 April 1966) is a British actress. She made her screen debut in the 1987 independent film ''Rita, Sue and Bob Too'', and subsequently worked consistently in television drama including roles in ''Coronation Street'' (1989–1990), ''Clocking Off'' (2000–2002) and ''The Amazing Mrs Pritchard'' (2006). In 2005, Finneran originated the lead female role in the stage play ''On the Shore of the Wide World'' and was awarded the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Thomas Michael "Tom" Finneran (born January 27, 1950), is a radio talk host and former Massachusetts Democratic politician who served as Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from April 1996 to September 2004. He represented the district that included parts of the Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, Mattapan and Hyde Park as well as parts of the town of Milton for 26 years. He resigned and accepted the position of President of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. He subsequently resigned in 2007 after pleading guilty to criminal obstruction of justice, in a court case about his testimony about his influence and participation in the redistricting process following the 2000 census. Gary Finneran (April 17, 1964 – May 10, 2009), also known as "Gary X", was an American singer songwriter best known as the frontman for the band Ex-Idols. He was considered to be one of the best songwriters to have never been recognized, and was honored as such at his memorial. Career Finneran gained critical acclaim and radio success with his band the Ex-Idols, known for their single "Go Away", the 1993 ''Pill Popper'' EP, and 1994 ''Social Kill'' full-length CD ( Relativity Records). He was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 1998 and also played for the Barcelona Dragons, Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at Villanova. Ronald James Finneran Order of Australia, OAM (born 1944) is an Australian Paralympic athlete and sports administrator, from Merimbula, New South Wales. Skiing career Finneran was born in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra, New South Wales, Maroubra. He lost the full use of both his legs and his right arm after contracting polio aged about 20 months. He took up skiing in 1972 after a visit to the Thredbo, New South Wales, Thredbo Ski Resort and trained in the United States and Canada. He was Australia's only participant at the 1976 Winter Paralympics in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, where he marched in the opening ceremony. Sharon Finneran
Sharon Evans Finneran (born February 4, 1946), also known by her married name Sharon Rittenhouse, is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder in three events. She represented the United States as an 18-year-old at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Finneran received a silver medal for her second-place finish in the women's 400-meter individual medley – completing an all-American sweep of the event with Donna de Varona and Martha Randall. In 1981 she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. In retirement Finneran took part in masters swimming tournaments. Her four siblings were competitive swimmers, divers and water polo players. Michael Holman Finneran (born September 21, 1948) is an American former diver. In 1971 he won the NCAA outdoor and AAU indoor titles and a gold medal at the Pan American Games, all in the 3 m springboard. Next year he won the AAU outdoor springboard title. At the 1972 Summer Olympics, he placed 5th in the springboard and 9th in the 10 m platform. Biography In 1971 Finneran graduated in business administration from the Ohio State University. Kevin Finneran is an American lacrosse coach. In 2006, he was the head coach and general manager of Major League Lacrosse's Chicago Machine. Prior to becoming the team's first head coach Finneran had played in the MLL. He played with the Long Island Lizards from 2001 to 2004 and the Philadelphia Barrage in 2005. Kevin also played box lacrosse in the National Lacrosse League. He spent 12 years and won four NLL Championships with the Philadelphia Wings before signing as a free agent with the Toronto Rock, where he played one season and won another championship.
