Finn Christensen (footballer)
Finn Christensen (born 25 March 1962) is a former Danish footballer. Biography Finn Christensen played most of his career in Vejle Boldklub. However, in 1984 he played a single season for Ikast FS. The same year Vejle won the Danish Championship. In the 1990s Finn was captain of a young Vejle Boldklub team that won silver medals in 1997 and played in the UEFA Cup twice. In this period Finn was the gran old man who controlled the game from his midfield position. His big impact on the successful team made him a very popular figure among the fans, who nicknamed him Ferrari Finn. Vejle Boldklub is a Danish professional football club based in Vejle in Jutland. Formed in 1891, the club is one of the most successful clubs in Danish football history, having won the Danish championship five times and the Danish cup title six times. VB is famous for being the only Danish club to develop a European Footballer of the Year winner in Allan Simonsen who won it in 1977. Ikast FC is an association football club based in the town of Ikast, Denmark, that competes in the Series 1, the sixth tier of the Danish football league system and the second tier of the regional DBU Jutland. The Danish football champions are the winners of the highest league of football in Denmark. The title has been contested since 1913, in a varying form of competitions. Since 1991, the winners have been found through the Danish Superliga championship. The Danish football championship is governed by the Danish Football Association (DBU). The early Danish football championships were decided in a single game, and the competition was not nationwide until its structure was altered before the 1927–28 season. Gert Eg
Gert Eg (born 26 February 1954) is a Danish former footballer. He played his entire career for Vejle Boldklub and holds the club record for most played matches. He was an allrounder that could cover almost any position on the field. However, he was primarily known as an elegant and clever central defender with a great understanding of the game. Biography Eg made 509 appearances for Vejle Boldklub's first team and was part of many great triumphs in the 1970s and 1980s. In a long period of time he was the team's captain. In 1975 Eg was the matchwinner as Vejle Boldklub won the Danish Cup. Thus, VB qualified for the UEFA Cup Winners Cup, where the team made it to the quarter finals. In 1983 Eg decided to end his footballing career, but already in 1984 he was back and became very successful once again.
