Finnish Rugby Federation
The Finnish Rugby Federation (SRL) ( fi, Suomen Rugbyliitto) is recognised as the national governing body for rugby in Finland. It is a member of several organisations, including World Rugby and Rugby Europe. The SRL was founded in 1968 and has as its members Finnish rugby clubs and the Finland Rugby Referees Association. SRL's mission is to develop the sport in Finland and support the local clubs in their activities. The organisation is responsible for the Men's National XV Team, Men's National Sevens Team, Women's National XV Team, Women's National Sevens Team. The SRL also administers and organises domestic rugby competitions in Finland. Interest in rugby in Finland has increased in recent years and SRL strongly believes that rugby has a future in Finland, where team and contact sports are appreciated. 2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Trophy
The 2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Trophy is the second division of Rugby Europe's 2019 sevens season. This edition is due to be hosted by the cities of Budapest and Lisbon on 8–23 June. The two highest-placed teams will be promoted to the 2020 Grand Prix and eligible to compete in the European Olympic qualifying tournament. The two teams with the fewest points will be relegated to the 2020 Conference. Rugby Europe Women's Sevens
The Rugby Europe Women's Sevens, previously the FIRA–AER Women's Sevens until 2013, is a series of regional championships for women's international rugby sevens in Europe. Prior to 2012, the annual tournament is held over two days, typically on a weekend in June, before the highest category tournament was reorganized as the Sevens Grand Prix Series, modeled after the format of the World Rugby Sevens Series. The tournaments are sanctioned and sponsored by Rugby Europe. History Rugby sevens — also known as 7-a-side, or 7s — is a short form of the sport of rugby union that was first played in 1883. The first (men's) internationals took place in 1973. The 2016 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series was the top level of international women's rugby sevens competitions organised by Rugby Europe during 2016. The series featured two tournaments, one hosted in Kazan and one hosted in Malemort. In preparation for 2016 Summer Olympics, England and Wales were replaced by two Great Britain representative teams, the Lions and the Royals. France won the Kazan tournament while Russia won the Malemort tournament. Russia won the overall championship. Finland and Ukraine were relegated to the 2017 Trophy series.
