Fingerling (fish)
Fish go through various life stages between fertilization and adulthood. The life of a fish start as spawned eggs which hatch into immotile larvae. These larval hatchlings are not yet capable of feeding themselves and carry a yolk sac which provides stored nutrition. Before the yolk sac completely disappears, the young fish must mature enough to be able to forage independently. When they have developed to the point where they are capable of feeding by themselves, the fish are called fry. When, in addition, they have developed scales and working fins, the transition to a juvenile fish is complete and it is called a fingerling, so called as they are typically about the size of human fingers. The juvenile stage lasts until the fish is fully grown, sexually mature and interacting with other adult fish. Fingerlings is a toy line released in 2017 by WowWee. The toy is a robotic creature that wraps around a finger and reacts to touch and sound with actions like blinking and blowing kisses. Fingerlings Hugs are larger plush toys that have the same interactivity. In the 2017 Christmas season Fingerlings were a hit, and so called "Grinch bots", named after a fictional Dr Seuss character who "stole Christmas", bought out Fingerlings on online retail sites to resell for higher prices. A Fingerling potato is a small, stubby, finger-shaped type of potato which may be any heritage potato cultivars. Fingerlings are varieties that naturally grow small and narrow. They are fully mature when harvested and are not to be confused with new potatoes. Pinkeltje
''Pinkeltje'' (known in English as Fingerling) is a fictional character from the eponymous children's book series by the Dutch writer Dick Laan. Pinkeltje is a white-bearded gnome and wears a pointed hat and is as big as a pinky finger, hence its name, meaning "fingerling" (literally "little pinky") in Dutch. 29 books were published in a series between 1939 and 1977. The last four volumes appeared posthumously. A successful film was also released with the same title and based on the books. Book series The early stories focus mainly on Pinkeltje's adventures in the Grote Huis (Big House), inhabited by a father, a mother, a nameless boy and an unnamed girl (originally a boy and two girls). Pinkeltje doesn't appear to the residents, but is always ready to help them in silence. Winged Eel Fingerling
Elliot Ingber (born August 24, 1941) is an American guitarist. In 1966, he joined Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and was featured on their debut album '' Freak Out!'' After being fired from the band by Zappa following an incident onstage where he tripped on LSD and was unaware that his amplifier was not switched on (according to Jimmy Carl Black), Ingber helped form Fraternity of Man, which released two albums. He subsequently joined Captain Beefheart's Magic Band where he was given the stage name Winged Eel Fingerling by Beefheart. In the sleeve notes to ''The Spotlight Kid ''The Spotlight Kid'' is the sixth studio album by Captain Beefheart.
