Fikile Venessa Magama (born 19 January 2002) is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a defender for SAFA Women's League side UWC Ladies and the South Africa women's national team.. International career She was part of the Basetsana team at the inaugural COSAFA U-20 Women's Championship held in 2019 when they won a bronze medal. Magama competed for the South Africa women's national soccer team at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup where they reached the Round of 16. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. The 2019 COSAFA U-20 Women's Championship was the first edition of the COSAFA U-20 Women's Championship, an international football tournament, for national women's under-20 teams organized by COSAFA. The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is scheduled to be the ninth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup competition, the quadrennial international women's football championship contested by the women's national association football teams organised by FIFA. The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a public research university in Bellville, near Cape Town, South Africa. The university was established in 1959 by the South African government as a university for Coloured people only.
