The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) was founded on 25 March 1949 and achieved International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition on 20 September 1955. Carl Harvie Probert (born 13 September 1975 in Suva, Rewa, Fiji) is a 5-time Olympic swimmer and National Record holder from Fiji. He swam for Fiji at the 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics. He also competed for Fiji at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, 2002 Commonwealth Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games and at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships. Anthony Steven "Tony" Philp MF is a former Windsurfing World Champion and Olympic sailor from Fiji. Currently a Brand Ambas'ador for international outdoor magazine ''The Outdoor Journal'', he is also a consultant for the International Surfing Association. Philp is one of only two Fiji-born athletes, along with golfer Vijay Singh, to be ranked number one in their sports official world ranking list.
