Fiji Women's Rights Movement
The Fiji Women's Rights Movement (FWRM) is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural organisation based in Suva, Fiji, that works to remove discrimination against women through attitudinal changes and institutional reforms. FWRM believes in the practice and promotion of feminism, democracy, good governance and human rights. FWRM is known for its public opposition to military rule in Fiji since the first coup in 1987, and for its innovative approaches and core programmes related to intergenerational women's leadership in Fiji, particularly young, indigenous and locally-born women. In 2016, FWRM launched ''Girls Digital Stories'', a project aimed at challenging bullying and discrimination, through the narratives of 10-12 year old girls, using storytelling and digital art. Suva
Suva () is the capital and largest city of Fiji. It is the home of the country's largest metropolitan area and serves as its major port. The city is located on the southeast coast of the island of Viti Levu, in Rewa Province, Central Division. In 1877, the capital of Fiji was moved to Suva from Levuka, the main European colonial settlement at the time, due to its restrictive geography and environs. The administration of the colony was transferred from Levuka to Suva in 1882. As of the 2017 census, the city of Suva had a population of 93,970, and Suva's metropolitan area, which includes its independent suburbs, had a population of 185,913. The combined urban population of Suva and the towns of Lami, Nasinu, and Nausori that border it was around 330,000: over a third of the nation's population. Virisila Buadromo
Virisila Buadromo (born 1972) is a Fijian political activist and former journalist, who was the executive director of the Fiji Women's Rights Movement (FWRM) from 2001 to 2015. She used to be the news director for FM96. Political positions On 15 August 2006, Buadromo called for abortion to be legalized in Fiji. 2006 coup d'état Buadromo strongly condemned the military coup which deposed the elected government of Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase on 5 December 2006. The ''Fiji Times'' quoted her on 12 December as saying that Fiji had a "coup culture" which was perpetuated by the failure of successive governments to prosecute perpetrators of earlier coups, from the 1987 coups onwards. The Fiji Village news service reported on 9 December that she had issued a strong warning to any persons interested in applying for ministerial positions in a Military-backed government that participation would be illegal, and that the FWRM was documenting events in the wake of the coup. Penelope Moore

Helen Sutherland (activist)
Helen Christian Sutherland (24 February 1881 – 29 April 1965), married name Helen Denman, was an English art patron and collector. Life She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Sutherland, and his only surviving child. She married Richard Denman in 1904; the marriage was annulled in 1913. They had separated in 1909; Denman married May Spencer in 1914. After her marriage failed, Sutherland began to collect art. Initially she took guidance from Freddy Mayor of the Mayor Gallery. From the mid-1920s she collected mainly from a group of artist friends. In 1929 she took a lease on Rock Hall, Northumberland. She was an early patron of the Ashington Group.
