Fever (1981 Film)
''Fever'' ( pl, Gorączka) is a 1981 Polish drama film directed by Agnieszka Holland. It is based on a story of writer Andrzej Strug. It was entered into the 31st Berlin International Film Festival where Barbara Grabowska won the Silver Bear for Best Actress. The film takes place during the Revolution in the Kingdom of Poland (1905–07). The film was immediately banned by the Polish Communist government upon its release, because of its brutally realistic portrayal of the occupying Russian forces. Plot The film is set at the beginning of the 20th century, when Poland fought for its independence. Agnieszka Holland
Agnieszka Holland (born 28 November 1948) is a Poles, Polish film and television director and screenwriter, best known for her political contributions to Polish cinema. She began her career as assistant to directors Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Wajda, and emigrated to France shortly before the 1981 imposition of the martial law in Poland. Holland is best known for her films ''Europa Europa'' (1990), for which she received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay nomination, and ''The Secret Garden (1993 film), The Secret Garden'' (1993), as well as ''Angry Harvest'' and the Holocaust drama ''In Darkness (2011 film), In Darkness'', both of which were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In 2017 she received Alfred Bauer Prize (Silver Bear) for her film ''Spoor (film), Spoor'' at the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2020, she was elected President of the European Film Academy. Krzysztof Zaleski
Krzysztof Zaleski (September 3, 1948 – October 20, 2008) was a Polish theater director and cinema actor. Zaleski was born in Świętochłowice, Poland, on September 3, 1948. He graduated from Warsaw University's Department of Polish Studies in 1971. He further completed his studies at the State Higher Theatre School in Warsaw in 1986. He received numerous awards throughout his career for his work within the Warsaw theater community. In 2007, Zaleski was awarded the Feliks’ Award for his adaptation of series of short stories originally written by Marek Nowakowski. Zaleski worked as the Director of Polish Radio Drama. Additionally, he served as the director of Director of Polish Radio 2 for the last 18 months of his life. Krzysztof Zaleski died on October 20, 2008, in Warsaw at the age of 59 after a long illness. Michal (; he, מיכל , gr, Μιχάλ) was, according to the first Book of Samuel, a princess of the United Kingdom of Israel; the younger daughter of King Saul, she was the first wife of David (), who later became king, first of Judah, then of all Israel.
