Fessia Aouintii
''Fessia'' is a genus of bulbous flowering plants in the family (biology), family Asparagaceae, subfamily Scilloideae (also treated as the family Hyacinthaceae).Stevens, P.F. (2001 onwards),Asparagales: Scilloideae, ''Angiosperm Phylogeny Website'', retrieved 2013-04-02 It is distributed from Iran to Central Asia and Pakistan. Description Species of ''Fessia'' grow from bulbs, which are covered by a gray or black tunic, purple inside. Each bulb produces one or more flower stems (scape (botany), scapes) bearing whitish to blue or violet flowers. The stamens have pale blue anthers. The black seeds are globe or drop shaped. A number of species of ''Fessia'', often under their earlier names in the genus ''Scilla'', are grown by gardeners specializing in ornamental bulbous plants; they are hardy but some need a dry period in summer. ''F. puschkinioides'' (syn. ''Scilla puchkinioides'') is described as "an easy to grow hardy species"., pp. 152–153, 156 Systematics The genus ' ...

World Checklist Of Selected Plant Families
The World Checklist of Selected Plant Families (usually abbreviated to WCSP) is an "international collaborative programme that provides the latest peer reviewed and published opinions on the accepted scientific names and synonyms of selected plant families." Maintained by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, it is available online, allowing searches for the names of families, genera and species, as well as the ability to create checklists. The project traces its history to work done in the 1990s by Kew researcher Rafaël Govaerts on a checklist of the genus ''Quercus''. Influenced by the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation, the project expanded. , 173 families of seed plants were included. Coverage of monocotyledon families is complete; other families are being added. There is a complementary project called the International Plant Names Index (IPNI), in which Kew is also involved. The IPNI aims to provide details of publication and does not aim to determine which are accepted spec ...
