Feroz Awards
The Feroz Awards ( es, Premios Feroz) are Spain-based film and television awards presented by the Asociación de Informadores Cinematográficos de España (''Association of Cinematographic Informers of Spain''). They are considered the Spanish equivalent to the Golden Globe Awards, since they are part of the build-up to the Goya Awards, presented by the Spanish Film Academy. Created as film awards, the first edition took place in January 2014. Categories recognizing excellence in television were added for the 4th edition that took place in 2017. Eligibility conditions To be eligible for Premios Feroz, a film needs to have been premiered within the year prior to the award ceremony and, before the premiere, have been featured in a special projection for the press in Madrid, Barcelona or both. Roque Baños
Roque Baños López is a Spanish music composer. Baños graduated from Boston's Berklee College of Music in 1995 and has since scored both Spanish and English-language films. He has received numerous awards for his compositional work, including the Spanish Goya Award for Best Original Score in both 2008 and 2009. Early life and education Born in Jumilla, Baños has been involved in music his whole life, his father being a saxophonist, and he himself completed a basic saxophone degree at the Upper Music Conservatory of Murcia. In 1986, Baños moved to Madrid where he attended the Real Conservatorio Superior and continued his musical studies, obtaining professional degrees in the saxophone, piano, harmony, counterpoint, composition, instrumentation and conducting. A Monster Calls (film)
''A Monster Calls'' is a 2016 dark fantasy drama film directed by J. A. Bayona from a screenplay by Patrick Ness and based on Ness' 2011 novel of the same name. It stars Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, Lewis MacDougall, and Liam Neeson. In the film, Conor O'Malley (MacDougall) grapples with his mother's terminal illness as he is visited by the Monster (Neeson), a giant anthropomorphic yew tree who tells him stories. The film rights to Ness' novel were acquired by Focus Features in March 2014, after which, he was hired as screenwriter and Bayona signed on as director. Lucas Vidal
Lucas Vidal (born 1984) is a two time Goya Award winning Spanish composer, conducting, conductor, and record producer. Vidal became the youngest Berklee College of Music student ever to compose and record the score to a feature film with a full orchestra, and he is best known for composing the score for the 2013 film ''Fast & Furious 6''. Life Lucas Vidal was born and grew up in Madrid. His father is also a musician and his grandfather was one of the founders of the record company Hispavox. He began studying piano and flute at age 4. Shigeru Umebayashi
(born February 19, 1951) is a Japanese composer. Once the leader and bass player of Japan's new wave rock band EX, composer Shigeru Umebayashi began scoring films in 1985 when the band broke up. He has more than 30 Japanese and Chinese film scores to his credit and is perhaps best known in the West for "Yumeji's Theme" (originally from Seijun Suzuki's ''Yumeji''), included in director Wong Kar-wai's '' In the Mood for Love'' (2000). Umebayashi scored most of Wong Kar-wai's follow-up film, '' 2046'' (2004), and ''House of Flying Daggers''.
