Fernando Ramírez de Haro y Valdés, 16th Count of Bornos, 15th Count of Murillo, GE, RMCS (b. 17 December 1949) is a Spanish nobleman and landowner, the current president of Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro. Born in Madrid, Bornos is the elder son of the late Ignacio Ramírez de Haro, 15th Count of Bornos, Grandee of Spain (1918–2010), and his wife Beatriz Valdés, 4th Marchioness of Casa Valdés. The House of Haro, La Rioja, Haro was one of the most powerful families of Castile during the Middle Ages and strongly supported the Expansionist nationalism, expansionist policies of Alfonso VI of Castile. As a reward, Íñigo López, Lord of Biscay, Íñigo López was named the first Basque señoríos, Lord of Biscay. In the early 16th century, the Haro family married paternally into the House of Sotomayor establishing a branch that would go on to hold dominion over the Marquesado del Carpio established in 1559 by King Philip II of Spain. The Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla (Spanish for 'Royal Cavalry Armory of Seville') is a Spanish Maestranza de caballería or chivalric order created in 1670 from the remnants of the preceding ''Cofradía de San Hermenegildo'' (or ''Hermandad Caballeresca''). It was created under the advocacy of the patron saint, Our Lady of the Rosary, and its original purpose was to train nobles in the use of arms and war horsemanship in order to better serve the Spanish Crown. It also served to train officers for the army. Ten years later, it drew up and ratified its own bylaws, and it underwent successive reforms in 1732, 1793, 1913, 1966, and finally in 1978.
