A hypocorism ( or ; from Ancient Greek: (), from (), 'to call by pet names', sometimes also ''hypocoristic'') or pet name is a name used to show affection for a person. It may be a diminutive form of a person's name, such as ''Izzy'' for Isabel or ''Bob (given name), Bob'' for Robert, or it may be unrelated. Fernando Henrique da Conceição (), known as Fernandinho, Fernando Henrique or Fei Nanduo (; born 16 March 1993), is a professional footballer who last played as a winger for Chinese Super League club Guangzhou. Born in Brazil, he obtained Chinese citizenship through naturalization. Club career Fernandinho began his professional career with his local lower league side Atlético Sorocaba after graduating from their youth team. After playing in several games he was bought by sports marketing company Traffic and trained with top tier club Flamengo who decided to buy 70% of the economic rights of the player. Fernando José Marques Maciel (born 19 July 1997), commonly known as Fernandinho, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Mirassol. Club career Born in São Luís, Maranhão, Fernandinho finished his formation with Sampaio Corrêa. Luiz Fernando Pereira da Silva (born 25 November 1985), commonly known as Fernandinho, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Retrô FC Brasil.
