Hungarian Communist Party
The Hungarian Communist Party ( hu, Magyar Kommunista Párt, abbr. MKP), known earlier as the Party of Communists in Hungary ( hu, Kommunisták Magyarországi Pártja, abbr. KMP), was a communist party in Hungary that existed during the interwar period and briefly after World War II. It was founded on November 24, 1918, as Party of Communists in Hungary, and was in power between March and August 1919 when Béla Kun ran the short-lived Hungarian Soviet Republic. The communist government was later overthrown by the Romanian Army, Kun was exiled to Vienna and later he including many other communists moved to Moscow and during those years membership was becoming smaller every year. During World War II the party changed its name to Peace Party but only a year later in 1944, they embraced a new name which they will hold until 1948. The Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party ( hu, Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt, MSZMP) was the ruling Marxist–Leninist party of the Hungarian People's Republic between 1956 and 1989. It was organised from elements of the Hungarian Working People's Party during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, with János Kádár as general secretary. The party also controlled its armed forces, the Hungarian People's Army. The Hungarian Workers' Party ( hu, Magyar Munkáspárt) is a communist party in Hungary led by Gyula Thürmer. Established after the fall of the communist Hungarian People's Republic, the party has yet to win a seat in the Hungarian parliament. Until May 2009, it was a member of the Party of the European Left. It was formed from, and considers itself the successor to, the former ruling Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party. Erik Molnár
Erik Molnár (16 December 1894 – 8 August 1966) was a Hungarian communist politician, lawyer, economist and philosopher who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs twice: from 1947 to 1948 and from 1952 to 1953. Biography During the First World War he fought at the Eastern Front where captured by the Russians. As prisoner of war Molnár met with the communist ideas in a prisoner-of-war camp in Far East Asia. Later he returned to home and finished his legal studies. After that he joined to the illegal Hungarian Communist Party's working along with his younger brother, René. He published lot of articles for the illegal communist newspapers (''Gondolat'', ''Társadalmi Szemle'', ''Korunk''). In the Interim National Government he served as Minister of Welfare (1944–1945).
