The men's team foil was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1976 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fourteenth appearance of the event. The competition was held from 24 to 25 July 1976. 63 fencers from 14 nations competed. CEPSUM
The CEPSUM (french: Centre d'éducation physique et des sports de l'Université de Montréal, also le Stade du CEPSUM) is a multi-purpose complex sport centre located on the campus of the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The CEPSUM hosts the Montreal Carabins teams. History In 1963-1964, the Université de Montréal purchased the building belonging to the Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association, situated on the corner of Park Avenue and Mount Royal Avenue. The Centre at that time had a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a palestre, and an auditorium. The Montreal Carabins of this period used the outside installations of the Jeanne-Mance Park. The Physical educational Department and the Carabins occupied these places until 1976, year of the official inauguration of the CEPSUM which was built for the Montreal Olympics. Fencing At The 1980 Summer Olympics – Men's Team Foil
The men's team foil was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1980 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fifteenth appearance of the event. The competition was held from 25 to 26 July 1980. 40 fencers from 9 nations competed. Rosters Results Round 1 Round 1 Pool A Romania and the Soviet Union each defeated Great Britain, 12–4 and 13–3, respectively. The two victors then faced off. The Soviet Union won 9–2. Round 1 Pool B Cuba and Hungary tied at 8–8, with 58 touches apiece. France then defeated both of the other teams, 10–6 each. Graham Paul
Graham René Paul (born 15 May 1947) is a retired British international fencer. Fencing career He competed at the 1968, 1972, 1976, and 1984 Summer Olympics. He represented England and won a gold medal in the team foil and a bronze medal in the individual foil, at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica. Four years later he repeated the success by winning another gold and bronze at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. Robert John Bruniges (3 August 1956 – 6 February 2023) was a British fencer and three weapon qualified coach. Geoffrey Grimmett
Geoffrey Richard Grimmett (born 20 December 1950) is a mathematician known for his work on the mathematics of random systems arising in probability theory and statistical mechanics, especially percolation theory and the contact process.
