The women's foil was one of eight fencing events on the fencing at the 1980 Summer Olympics programme. It was the eleventh appearance of the event. The competition was held from 23 to 24 July 1980. 33 fencers from 14 nations competed. CSKA Sports Complex
The CSKA Sports Complex is an Olympic Village that is part of CSKA Moscow and was prepared to the 1980 Summer Olympics. It is located right next to a military air field. Its athletics fieldhouse hosted the wrestling competitions while its football fieldhouse hosted the fencing and the fencing part of the modern pentathlon competitions.
