A Christian denomination is a distinct religious body within Christianity that comprises all church congregations of the same kind, identifiable by traits such as a name, particular history, organization, leadership, theological doctrine, worship style and sometimes a founder. Nigerian Reformed Church
The Nigeria Reformed Church was a mission project of the Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands. The work was started in 1970. In 2000 the denomination had 1,911 members. The church operates in the Izi tribe, comprising about a half million members in the north of Anambra state. The first mission point was opened on 28 August 1977. Over the years missionary congregations created and instituted. In April 1988 the federation was instituted with 17 ministers and 8 deacons served the church. Since then it has become independent. In 2011 the church had 2,500 members in 14 local congregations, 6 mission district in 4 Classis. The church served 9 pastors and 26 evangelists. Currently there are two missionaries working in Nigeria. Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN) is a private, Christian college located in Bukuru, Plateau State, Nigeria. History TCNN was constituted on November 26, 1958 and came into being in February 1959 when classes started at Gindiri. TCNN moved to its permanent site at Bukuru and was dedicated in 1961. TCNN started with two programmes, the Diploma of Theology and Certificate in Theology (now Diploma in Christian Ministry). TEKAN was founded by the National Daughter Churches of the Sudan United Mission and the Church of the Brethren Mission. In 1980 the college started a Bachelor of Divinity programme along with the other two programmes. In September 1991 the college began to offer master's degrees in theology. The Reformed Church of Christ in Nigeria was formed in 1973 when a split occurred in the Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria. It consists of people of the Kuteb tribe, through multi-ethnic ministry is being pursued in other areas. In 1979 the church was officially recognised by the Nigerian government. In 1993 the church changed its name from Church of Christ in Nigeria to the current name. Since 1973 the church is growing rapidly. Mambila Baptist Convention Of Nigeria
The Mambilla or Mambila people of Nigeria live on the Mambilla Plateau (in 'Sardauna' local government area of Taraba State in Nigeria). A small fraction of Mambilla migrants left the Mambilla Plateau for the Ndom Plain (also known as northern Tikar Plain) on the Cameroon side of the international border as well as in a couple of small villages, such as New Namba, on the Gashaka Plain in the north, and Jiini-Nyalang-Langa area close to the Kwanja. Today, the preferred ethnonym is spelt Mambila in Cameroon and Mambilla in Nigeria. "Norr" is also used (the word for person in Nigerian dialects of Mambilla) (Bami-Yuno, 2013 ms).
