Felicidad Ogumoro
Felicidad Taman Ogumoro (1 December 1949 – January 2024) was a politician from the Northern Mariana Islands. She served for some years as a member of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives. Early life and career Felicidad Taman Ogumoro was born into a poor Carolinian family on Saipan, the daughter of Daniel Rogolifoi Ogumoro and Estefania Taman; she is the eldest of eight children. During her childhood, she trained to become a member of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy and attended Mt. Carmel High School, a parochial school in Saipan. She then attended the University of Saint Mary in Kansas and earned a B.A. in sociology. She married Francisco Uludong in 1976 and they remained married until his death in 1991. ''Marianas Variety'' is a daily newspaper published in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, five times per week. It is owned by Younis Art Studio Inc. ''Marianas Variety'' is a member of the Associated Press, Reuters, and the Pacific Islands News Association. Benigno Fitial
Benigno Repeki Fitial (born November 27, 1945) is a Northern Marianan politician who served was the seventh governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. The second longest-serving governor in CNMI history, Fitial was elected on November 6, 2005, assumed office on January 9, 2006, and was re-elected to a (five-year) second term in 2009. He was impeached by the CNMI House of Representatives on February 11, 2013, and was scheduled to face trial before the CNMI Senate to determine if he should be removed from office. He resigned on February 20, 2013, after 7 years, 1 month, and 11 days in office. Fitial founded the Covenant Party in 2001 after leaving the Republican Party. Teresita Santos is a politician from the Northern Mariana Islands. Formerly a member of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives, she currently serves as a member of the Northern Mariana Islands Senate. Janet Ulloa Maratita (born ) is a politician from the Northern Mariana Islands and former member of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives. Biography Janet Ulloa Maratita was born in 1965/1966. In her professional life she has worked as a program manager for the Diabetes and Non-Communicable Disease Control of the Department of Public Health. Maratita has five children. Maratita was elected to the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives for the 14th Commonwealth Legislature in 2005. In the 2007 general election, Maratita lost out in a close election to Tina Sablan. 2009 Northern Mariana Islands General Election
General elections were held in the Northern Mariana Islands on 7 November 2009, electing the Governor, the Legislature, four mayors, the Board of Education and nine municipal council members. There were also four referendums. Background A total of 16,146 voters registered to vote with the Commonwealth Election Commission for the 2009 election. That is a 15% increase in voters compared to the 15,118 people who registered to vote in the 2005 general election. Precinct 1 on Saipan, which includes the villages of San Antonio, San Vicente and Koblerville, had the most number of registered voters at 4,331. Voter registration ended on September 18, 2009. A total of 109 candidates vied for the 43 elected positions in the Northern Mariana Islands in the 2009 election. Juan Nekai Babauta (born September 7, 1953) is a Northern Mariana Islander politician who served as the sixth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from January 14, 2002 to January 9, 2006. Froilan Cruz "Lang" Tenorio (September 9, 1939 – May 4, 2020) was a Northern Mariana Islander politician who was the fourth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. Elected in 1993, he served one term from January 10, 1994 to January 12, 1998. During his governorship and most of his political career, Tenorio was a member of the Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands, which was not then affiliated with the American Democratic Party.
