Feel Like Makin' Love (Bad Company Song)
"Feel Like Makin' Love" is a song by English supergroup Bad Company. The power ballad originally appeared on the LP '' Straight Shooter'' in April 1975 and was released as a single in August of the same year. It was named the 78th best hard rock song of all time by VH1. The song, along with other Bad Company music, was featured in the 2001 film ''Scotland, PA''. Origin Paul Rodgers started to come up with the lyrics at a camp in California while touring the US with Free. He was 19 years old. After several years, Rodgers played it to Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs who threw in that big chord in the chorus - the muted 'duh-duh' that marks the shift from country ballad to chest-beating rocker. Reception ''Cash Box'' said that the "strong two-pronged attack from Ralphs' guitar and Rodgers' vocals make the track an excellent choice to follow 'Good Lovin'.'" Bad Company are an English rock supergroup that was formed in 1973 by singer Paul Rodgers, guitarist Mick Ralphs, drummer Simon Kirke and bassist Boz Burrell.Bad Company ''AllMusic'' Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982. The Chimes (Scottish Band)
The Chimes were a British dance music trio, which consisted of Pauline Henry (born in Jamaica) with Mike Peden and James Locke from Edinburgh, Scotland. They are best known for their hits " Heaven" and a remake of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", which became a UK top 10 hit. Chart success In the US, they reached the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with the song " 1-2-3", at No. 86 in 1990. Sony Soho Square
Sony S2 Records, formerly named as S2 Records and Sony Soho Square (typeset as Sony Soho2), was a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (SME), which operated as a record label in the 1990s and early 2000s. Sony Soho Square was named after its location after its location at London's Soho Square, with Lincoln Elias (who went on to become the Managing Director of Virgin Records in 2006 and now works with PMR Records) being the founder of the label. It was later headed by Muff Winwood, brother of musician Steve Winwood, who had worked at CBS Records/Sony Music Entertainment since the later 1970s. Pauline Henry (born 29 January 1961) is a Jamaican-British recording artist. She was the vocalist in the Scottish band the Chimes, best known for their 1990 cover version of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", between 1988 and 1991. Following her departure from the group, Henry embarked on a solo career, and achieved five UK top 40 singles between 1993 and 1996. Early life Henry emigrated from Jamaica to the United Kingdom when she was 10 years old, and settled in London. Simon Kirke
Simon Frederick St George Kirke (born 28 July 1949) is an English rock drummer best known as a member of Free and Bad Company. He has been the only continuous member of Bad Company since their inception. Life and career Kirke was born in Lambeth, South London, the son of Olive May ( Pollard) and Vivian Percy Kirke, who married in 1948. Simon's father was from a junior branch of a family of Nottinghamshire landed gentry, and descended on his mother's side from the Gibson-Craig baronets. Kirke spent his early years living in the countryside of Wales. Leaving school at 17, he returned to London and set about finding a drumming job in the booming blues scene. Boz Burrell
Raymond "Boz" Burrell (1 August 1946 – 21 September 2006) was an English musician. Originally a vocalist and guitarist, Burrell is best known for his singing with King Crimson (1971–1972) and bass playing in Bad Company (1973–1982, 1998–1999). He died of a heart attack in Spain on 21 September 2006, aged 60. Career Early years Raymond Burrell was born on 1 August 1946 in Holbeach, Lincolnshire.
