Federal University Of Fronteira Sul
The Federal University of Fronteira Sul ( pt, Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul, UFFS) is a public, federally-funded Brazilian university serving the interior of Southern Brazil. It was formally founded by act of legislature in September 2009, and planned to graduate 10,000 students within its first five years. Its headquarters and main campus are in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, and smaller campuses are located in Laranjeiras do Sul and Realeza in Paraná, and Cerro Largo, Erechim, and Passo Fundo in Rio Grande do Sul. Its current rector is Marcelo Rectenvald, appointed in 2019 for a four-year term. Chapecó
Chapecó () is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, in the Southern Region of Brazil. Being a major industrial, financial and educational center, it is a major producer of industrialized food products. Considered a medium city, with a population estimated at 224,013 inhabitants, it is among the four most important cities in the state. It belongs to the Meso-region of Western Santa Catarina and to the Microregion of Chapecó. Distant 550 km from the state capital, Florianópolis, it is Headquarters of the Metropolitan Region of Chapecó, and exerts significant influence not only in the Catarinense West but also in the Northwest Rio Grande do Sul and Southwest of Paraná, from an economic, cultural, or political point of view. Cerro Largo, Rio Grande Do Sul
Cerro Largo is a municipality in the northwestern part of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It occupies an area of 174.64 km² (67.43 sq mi) at 28º09'0" south 54º45'0" west, at an elevation of 211 m (692 ft) above sea level. Its population was 14,189 inhabitants. Regional language Cerro Largo was settled soon after 1900 mostly by German Brazilians from the old German settlements on the eastern part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the ''Altkolonie'' (in German). Portuguese is the official language but Riograndenser Hunsrückisch is still spoken by many citizens in the area. It is the birthplace of São Paulo's current archbishop, Cardinal Odilo Scherer. Erechim
Erechim is a Brazilian municipality located in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul. A regional center in the northern portion of the state, it is the second most populous city in the region with 106,633 inhabitants, second only to the city of Passo Fundo. The municipality ranks 17th in total gross domestic product in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Erechim was one of the first planned modern cities in Brazil. City planners were inspired by urban concepts used in the design of Washington, D.C. (1791) and Paris (1850). These were characterized by very wide streets and bold outlines, with diagonal streets converging at important points. Passo Fundo
Passo Fundo is a municipality in the north of the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is named after its river. It's the twelfth largest city in the state with an estimated population of 204,722 inhabitants living in a total municipal area of 780 km2. Passo Fundo is a city well known because of the singer, composer and filmmaker Vitor Mateus Teixeira, better known as Teixeirinha, he was born in the city of Rolante in Rio Grande do Sul, and adopted the city of Passo Fundo as his own, the singer liked a lot from the city, in 1960 he composed the song "Gaúcho de Passo Fundo", which was very successful and made Passo Fundo become a known city throughout Brazil.
